MuLu, Fluxus and Beyond

Client: Museum Ludwig, Cologne OCTOBER 2024 – FEBRUARY 2025 The exhibition “Fluxus and beyond: Ursula Burghardt, Benjamin Patterson ” at the Museum Ludwig in Cologne sheds light on the influential art movement of the 1960s known as Fluxus. The focus is on the works of Ursula Burghardt (1928-2008) and Benjamin Patterson (1934-2016), who were both associated with the Fluxus network. Fluxus was characterized by actions and performances that merged art and life as well as different media. Cologne was a center of this movement in the 1960s, particularly due to the WDR’s Studio for Electronic Music and the studio of artist Mary Bauermeister, where numerous events took place. It was here that Burghardt and Patterson met in person in 1960. The exhibition runs from 12 October 2024 to 9 February 2025 and is accompanied by an extensive supporting program of concerts, readings and workshops. 235 Media installed the media technology, consisting of media players, projectors, displays and sound. We also recorded the media players and made adjustments to the content.
